As described in the “Community Needs Assessment Resource Guide” published by the Community Action Partnership on Sep 15, 2018, the “Community Needs Assessment is a process conducted by all Community Action Agencies every three years to determine the underlying causes and conditions of poverty within the community they serve and identify the available resources to address the unmet needs of the community’s most vulnerable residents.”
In accordance with this requirement the Community Needs Assessment for the Saginaw County Area, has been compiled by the Saginaw County Community Action Center Research Team led by Hurley Coleman III, Executive Director.
The findings from this assessment will help guide future programs, funding priorities, and partnerships to ensure services are aligned with real community needs. By engaging local residents, stakeholders, and service providers, the process also highlights the importance of family events, educational gatherings, and community-based activities that strengthen connections and provide support.
