Saginaw CAC's Housing Counseling program is HUD approved and Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MHSDA) certified. Housing and credit counseling is provided to any individual or family threatened with mortgage foreclosure or rental evictions, and to persons seeking to become homeowners. We provide loan work-out sessions with lenders, assistance upon the completion of a work-out package, and information about mortgage refinance options and foreclosure steps and options.

Mortgage Default and Delinquency Counseling
- If you are behind on your mortgage payments. our counselors can help you get back on track.
Eligibility criteria are:
- Saginaw County Resident
To apply for service, bring:
- Picture ID
Financial Management Education
- Educational support designed to assist you in addressing financial problems or barriers that get in the way of your goals
Eligibility criteria are:

- Proof of income
Foreclosure Prevention
- Counseling delivered to eligible home owning families for the purpose of saving their home from foreclosure

Bring the following to the office for your loan workout session:
- Completed application form
- Pay stubs for income verification
- W-2 forms from the previous year
- Completed budget
- Hardship letter that explains your situation
- Two months of bank statements
